Hi all
This is a good time to be laying the foundations for a very colourful allotment in 2015. You should now be collecting seeds from your garden annuals and storing them over winter for a blaze of colour next year and it's a great way to get plants for free. Collect seeds from calendula, poppies, cornflower, nasturshrum to name but a few and store them in paper bags till next spring when you can then sow them in situ. Allotments are about colour and not just produce and you get more satisfaction out of using your own seed rather the B&Q's. Once they are established next year, many will self sow for the following year and on it goes. We want really colourful plots in 2015 so start planning now!
Cheers

Good advice Colin,
I need to try and get some flowers on next year instead of just veg.
Although with the veg you can do the same, I'm drying out corn kernels and jalapeƱo seeds for spring.
That way you literally buy seeds once and then never again.
Cheers
